What Seventh-day Adventists Believe

At Shekinah Haitian Seventh-day Adventist Church in Alvarado, Texas, everything we teach comes from the Bible. Here are some of the core beliefs that shape our worship, our families, and our life together.

The Holy Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is our guide for faith and everyday life, and the standard for everything we believe.

2 Timothy 3:16, 17

One God

There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three eternal Persons who love us and work together for our salvation.

Matthew 28:19

Saved by Grace

Salvation is a free gift. We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who lived, died, and rose again for us.

Ephesians 2:8, 9

The Sabbath

God made the seventh day holy. From sunset Friday to sunset Saturday we rest, worship, and enjoy time with God and family, just as Jesus did.

Exodus 20:8 to 11

Baptism

Baptism by immersion is a public sign of our faith in Jesus, our new life in Him, and our welcome into God's church family.

Romans 6:3, 4

The Second Coming

Jesus is coming back. His return will be real and visible to all, and it is the blessed hope that fills us with joy and purpose.

John 14:1 to 3

Hope Beyond Death

The Bible describes death as a rest, like sleep. When Jesus returns, those who died trusting Him will be raised to eternal life.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 to 17

Healthy, Whole Living

Our bodies are a gift and a temple of the Holy Spirit. We care for them with healthy food, rest, and choices that honor God.

1 Corinthians 6:19, 20

A Church on Mission

The church is God's family, called to share the good news of Jesus and to serve our neighbors in Alvarado and around the world.

Matthew 28:19, 20
